For Owen, Emmanuel’s location, business department, and strong sense of community made it the right fit.

“I immediately felt a sense of community and support when visiting campus,” he says. “That moment confirmed that Emmanuel was the right place for me to grow academically, personally, and athletically.”

marketing major with double minors in finance and management, Owen saw an opportunity to combine creativity with problem-solving. “Marketing allows me to merge those passions with my interest in business,” he says. “My coursework in finance and management has made me more well-rounded. Finance has sharpened my analytical and decision-making skills, and management has strengthened my leadership and organizational abilities. Together, this helps me approach marketing with both a creative mindset and a strategic, numbers-driven perspective.”

One of the most pivotal moments in his decision came before he even arrived on campus, in a phone conversation with Dean of the School of Business & Management Anne Marie Pasquale. “She explained the academic offerings and opportunities within the business department, which really helped solidify my decision to attend this school.” Once at Emmanuel, courses like data analysis, consumer behavior, and digital marketing have demonstrated how creativity and data intersect in the marketing and business world.

Owen’s time as an Athletic Communications Intern allowed him to apply what he was learning. “What made it unique was its flexibility, as it was designed to be tailored to my specific interests,” he says. “My mentor and advisor has been fantastic in helping me to network in the college-athletic world.” The experience helped him narrow his focus to analytics in the sports industry, where he enjoys using data-driven strategies to shape decision-making.

Beyond academics, soccer has been a defining part of his time at Emmanuel. “Being a member of the Men’s Soccer Team has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my college experience,” he says. “It has taught me valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. The ability to push through challenges, stay disciplined, and support those around me will stick with me well beyond college.”

As graduation approaches, Owen is focused on career opportunities in marketing, analytics, and finance, while also preparing for graduate school. “I’m passionate about using data to drive marketing strategies and business decisions, so I see myself pursuing opportunities that allow me to do just that.”
