Kristen McDonald is an Assistant Nursing Professor at the Maureen Murphy Wilkens School of Nursing, bringing a unique blend of experience in both the nursing and corporate sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Boston College and a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (Board Certified), also from Boston College. Kristen’s clinical experience includes working as a postpartum nurse at Lowell General Hospital, where she provided compassionate care to new mothers and their families.
 
Before transitioning to nursing, Kristen worked as an Account Manager, Corporate Branding at Cambridge Energy Research Associates and had the opportunity to live and work internationally, enriching her perspective and broadening her professional skills. Her diverse background allows her to bring a global viewpoint to her teaching and clinical practice.
 
Outside of her professional life, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband Todd and her 3 children, Tess, Rowan, and MaryKate. She is an avid reader and enjoys running in her free time. Kristen is passionate about empowering the next generation of nurses and integrating her varied experiences to foster a dynamic learning environment for her students.
